Commitment to Serving MSU
Libraries, Computing and Technology is reorganizing our technology units as “Information Technology Services” (or simply “IT Services”). This is part of our efforts to meet a renewed commitment to ensure consistent, and consistently positive, IT experiences across MSU.
Our intent is to change the central IT service, planning, and resource management model from separate departmental units with defined boundaries to a set of purpose-focused, highly coordinated, and flexible teams operating like a single unit. Details are available at lct.msu.edu/itservices.
Information Services and Technologies Strategy
Michigan State University needs IT infrastructure and services that can address a variety of specialty needs and promote specialized and cutting-edge innovation, and simultaneously provide cost-efficiencies for commonly-needed services.

Teaching and Learning Environment Funding
- The Teaching and Learning Environment (TLE) funding request and allocation process changed beginning with the 2007-08 Fiscal Year budget cycle (budgeting for FY 2008-09). Learn more about the way TLE will be handled going forward.
Project Prioritization Process
- Many projects require time and attention for resources across
multiple units. The goal for MSU's project prioritization process is to
plan effective allocation of resources and identify critical-resource
bottlenecks that could arise as multiple projects compete in the same
time period for certain critical resources.
Institutional Memberships
- Membership in various professional associations provides higher education institutions a network of knowledge, support, and collaboration. The dedication and willingness of members to actively share ideas and experiences helps MSU understand academic trends, adapt to new technologies, and act on new opportunities. There are a variety of national and regional professional organizations in which MSU staff members maintain institutional memberships.
-
Libraries, Computing and Technology (LCT) is comprised of the MSU Libraries and IT Services, which includes several support departments with a common mission and collaborative approach to facilitating effective scholarship and work at Michigan State University by connecting people and information.
