Merit is a non-profit corporation with 30 years experience in networking and communications.
EDUCAUSE
On July 1, 1998, CAUSE and Educom were consolidated to create EDUCAUSE. "The mission of EDUCAUSE is to enable the transformational changes occurring in higher education through the introduction, use, access to, and management of information resources and technologies in teaching, learning, scholarship, research, and institutional management."
ARL
ARL influences the changing environment of scholarly communication and the public policies that affect research libraries and the communities they serve. ARL pursues this mission by advancing the goals of its member research libraries, providing leadership in public amd information policy to the scholarly and higher education committee, fostering the exchange of ideas and expertise, and shaping a future environment that leveragess its interest with those of allied organizations.
The Michigan Chapter of DAMA
MSU is a Corporate Sponsor of the Michigan Chapter of the Data Management Association (DAMA). DAMA-Michigan is a not-for-profit, vendor-independent professional organization dedicated to furthering the understanding of the field of data management through providing and supporting an open forum addressing issues related to this field. By affiliation, local and regional chapters of DAMA are members of DAMA International , a not-for-profit affiliation of local and regional chapters and Members-At-Large around the world consisting of thousands of data resource management professionals.
UCAID
The University Corporation for Advanced Internet Development is a non-profit consortium, led by university members working in partnership with corporate and affiliate members, to provide leadership and direction for advanced networking development within the university community.
ELI
The Educause Learning Initiative has the mission of helping institutions advance learning through IT innovation. The strategic focus is on learners and successful learning. Based on the mission and focus, ELI explores three primary areas: Learners, learning principles and practices, and learning technologies. Among the activities supported by ELI are an annual meeting, and online and face-to-face focus groups and workshops throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Committee on Institutional Cooperation
CIC, established in 1958, is the academic consortium of twelve major teaching and research universities in the Midwest. Its programs and activities extend to all aspects of university activity except intercollegiate athletics.
Sloan-C
The purpose of the Sloan Consortium (Sloan-C) is to help learning organizations continually improve quality, scale, and breadth according to their own distinctive missions, so that education will become a part of everyday life, accessible and affordable for anyone, anywhere, at any time, in a wide variety of disciplines. Created with funding from the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, Sloan-C encourages the collaborative sharing of knowledge and effective practices to improve online education in learning effectiveness, access, affordability for learners and providers, and student and faculty satisfaction.

MSU's premium membership in the Sloan Consortium entitles attendees to receive a discount on the registration fee at the annual Sloan-C meeting, as well as other benefits.
Kuali Project
The Kuali Project is organized for the purpose of creating and sustaining a “community source” initiative intended to provide a comprehensive suite of financial systems software to meet the needs of higher education institutions regardless of Carnegie Class. Michigan State University is a Founding Kuali Investor, and participates on the Kuali Board and on the Kuali Project’s functional and technical development teams. Other Board members include: the University of Arizona, Cornell University, the University of Hawaii, Indiana University, San Joaquin Delta College (California), the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), and a Founding Corporate Investor, the rSmart Group. Additional financial support for project has been provided through a grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

Gartner is one of the world's leading providers of research and analysis about the global information technology industry. They provide data, advice and opinions to clients worldwide, deliver consulting engagements throughout year, and hold annual events where they review the results of their studies to attendees. Their clients include chief information officers and other senior IT executives in corporations and government agencies, technology companies, and the investment community. Their service offerings include data mining their research reports through their web site.
